In 2016, there were many events in the political world. The biggest event was President Barack Obama completing his eight years of Presidency for the United States of America.
On November 8, 2016, Donald John Trump was elected to serve this country for four years. 2016, was a big year in the political world from a election of a new president, to a new $100 bill. New senators were elected, new cabinet members were elected, and the party for the President changed.
After eight years of a democratic party, the house is now a Republican party. Trying to make changes to the U.S., President Donald Trump tries to force all the new changes into everyone. The Supreme Court of Justice now has new cabinet members.
President Donald Trump picks and chooses a whole new party including his new nice president. Some Americans are excited for this upcoming adjustment and others still protesting for a different President. Americans showed their own opinions throughout this whole election process. The year of 2017 will have an exciting start to it, as the new President Donald Trump gets inaugurated on January 20, 2017.
The Presidential Election was a big part of 2016, from state to state, Hillary Clinton and Donald trump competed against each other for a win. Presidential debates let the whole country see both sides, the Democratic and Republican.

Also, in 2016 the White House lit up in rainbow colors in commemoration of the Supreme Court’s ruling to legalize same-sex marriage. Same-sex marriage let the United States show more freedom to all the individuals living in the U.S.
